CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY SURVEY - AMERICAN SAMOA BUILDING CODE UPGRADE PROJECT

The American Samoa Government, Office of Disaster Assistance and Petroleum Management, with the support of various ASG agencies, is coordinating the preparation of a new American Samoa Building Code. Pioa Consulting & Engineering, based in Tafuna, has been selected to examine the potential impacts of a new building code, as well as draft a new building code for American Samoa.

One important component of the project is to listen and gain insights and recommendations from representatives of the local construction industry, particularly those private companies and independent contractors that provide various types of construction services.  Since a part of your job involves your use of building codes, your background and experience represents an important consideration of issues and opportunities associated with the potential adoption of a new building code.
